# Complete your work in the space provided or upload a file that can display math symbols if your work requires it. Include the entire process for establishing a set of equations, the solution, and an explanation of what the solution means in terms of thevariables. Follow the process for establishing a set of equations: Choose a variable to represent one of the unknowns. Express the remaining unknowns in terms of the variable you chose in step 1. Look for a relationship between the unknowns given in the problem. Write an equation. (Look for the other relationship given in the problem.) The tens digit of a number is twice the ones digit. The sum of the digits in the number is 12. What is the number?

Let the once digit of the number is x,

According to the question,

The tens digit of the number = 2x

Also, the sum of the these two digit of the number = 12

⇒ x + 2x = 12

⇒ 3x = 12

⇒ x = 4

Therefore, the once digit of the number = 4

And, the tens digit of the number = 2x = 2*4 = 8

Thus, the number = the place value of tens digit + the place value of the once digit = 80 + 4 = 84
