A runner increases his velocity from 0 m/s to 20 m/s in 2.0s. What was his average acceleration?

    change in velocity = 20 - 0 = 20

    change in time = 2 seconds

    Divide the change in velocity over the change in time: 20/2 = 10

    The average acceleration is 10 m/s^2
