    y = - 8x - 18

    the equation of a line in ' slope-intercept form ' is

    y = mx + c (m is slope and c the y-intercept)

    here m = - 8 ⇒ y = - 8x + c

    to find c substitute ( - 3, 6) into the equation

    6 = 24 + c ⇒ c = 6 - 24 = - 18

    y = - 8x - 18 is the equation
