5. The perimeter of a rectangle is 160 metres.

(i) If x = the length, write down (in terms of x)

an expression for the width.

(ii) If the area of this rectangle is 1,536 m^2,

find its dimensions.

    X=length y=width

    (i) If p = 2x+2y then: y = (160-2x) / 2 = 80-x

    (ii) If A = x*y then: 1536 = x * (80-x) 1536 = 80x - (x^2)
