    You just need to use algebra to isolate/find n

    6n-12=n+3

    +12 + 12

    6n=n+15

    -n - n

    5n=15

    - - - - - -

    5 5

    n=3

    Check:

    6 (3) - 12=3+3

    18-12=6

    6=6

    Well, you got to try different numers to get n. So, just play around wit different numbers and see which one fits correctly

    6 times what - 12 is equal to 3 + that number?!

    It has to be the same number
