    17

    Step-by-step explanation:

There are 5,280 feet in a mile you want to multiply that by 5 for 5 miles

    (5,280) (5) = 26,400

Since there are 3 feet in a yard you want to divide this number by 3

    26,400/3 = 8,800

Then divide this by 500 for every 500 yards

    8,800/500 = 17.6

Then round down because you can't have a decimal.

    Therefore it is 17
