1. Aaron is making a candle by pouring melted wax into a mold in the shape of a cone. The radius of the base of the cone is 5 cm and the height of the cone is 9 cm. To get the wax for the candle, Aaron melts blocks of wax that are each 2 cm by 4 cm by 3 cm. How many of the wax blocks will Aaron need in order to make the candle?. SHOW WORK

    V=LHW

    V=2*4*3

    V=24

    Then you need to find the volume of the cone

    V=1/3 pi r^2h

    V=1/3 pi 5^2 (9)

    V=1/3 pi 25 (9)

    V = 1/3 pi 225

    V=1/3 706.5

    V=235.5

    Now divide 235.5 by 24 and you get 9.8125

    So he needs 10 blocks
