3 (4y-1) = 2 (5y+1/2) solve for y.

    3 (4y-1) = 2 (5y+1/2) distribute

    12y-3=10y+1

    12y=10y + 4

    2y=4 divide each side by 2

    4 divided by 2 equals 2

    The answer is y=2

    so nowe we have

    12y-3=10y+1

    subtract 10y from both sides

    add 3
