    1 Regroup terms

    3 (4-x) = 20x-7

    2 Expand

    12-3x=20x-7

    3 Add 3x to both sides

    12=20x-7+3x

    4 Simplify

    20x-7+3x to 23x-7

    12=23x-7

    5 Add 7 to both sides

    12+7=23x

    6 Simplify 12+7 to 19

    19=23x

    7 Divide both sides by 23

    19/23 = x

    8 Switch sides

    x = 19/23
