Jen is making a recipe for pancakes. A recipe calls for 4/10 kilogram flour and 12/100 kilogram sugar. Part A If Jen measures correctly and combines the two amounts, how much flour and sugar will she have? Show your work Part B How can you write your answer as a decimal?

    Well since you need a common denominator to add two fractions, 4/10 times 10/10 would be 40/100. Now add. 40/100 plus 12/100 would be 52/100, which simplifies to 13/25.

    52/100 equals 0.52 as a decimal
