    Answer: Abhishek is 18 years, Jagadish is 12 years.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let Abhishek present age be y

    Let Jagadish present age be z.

    Abhishek is 6 years older than Jagadish. This can be written as:

    y = z + 6 ... equation i

    Six years ago, Abhishek was twice as old as Jagadish. This can be written as:

    y - 6 = 2 (z-6)

    y - 6 = 2z - 12

    y = 2z - 12 + 6

    y = 2z - 6 ... equation ii

    From equation i and equation ii, equate the values of y together. This will be:

    z + 6 = 2z - 6

    Collect like terms

    2z - z = 6 + 6

    z = 12 years

    This means that Jagadish is 12 years.

    From equation I

    y = z + 6

    y = 12 + 6

    y = 18 years

    Abhishek is 18 years
