At 5:00 p. m., the outside temperature was - 9.2°C. By 10:00 p. m., the outside temperature had dropped 4.5°C. What was the outside temperature at 10:00 p. m.?

    It dropped by 4.5 means that we have to subtract 4.5 from 9.2

    9.2 - 4.5 = 4.7 °C
