    An equation is expressed in this form y=mx + c when the gradient is important. And m is the gradient in the equation. In the equation y=-5/14x+107, - 5/14 is the gradient. To get the original equation, multiply both sides by the lcm of the denominators which is14, i. e. each term.

    y*14=-5/14x (14) + 107*14

    14y=-5x+1498
