    You can "plug in" the value for y from the top eq in the bottom one:

    3 (-2x+6) - x + 3 = 0

    Simplify:

    -6x + 18 - x + 3 = 0

    -7x + 21 = 0

    -7x = - 21

    x = 3

    y = - 2*3+6 = 0
