    Step 1: simplify the equation by using the distributive property where applicable and combining like trems

    Step 2: Collect all the variables on one side by either adding or subtracting.

    step 3:Using inverse operations for addition and subtraction can removecontants, toget the vaiables and constants on opposite sides.

    Step 4:Inverse operations, such as multiplying and dividing can be used to eliminate coefficients in front of variables to get the variables by themselves
