    She ran 1 1/2 miles = 1.5 miles.

    Let the distance round the park be x.

    (5/8) * x = 1.5 miles.

    x = 1.5 * 8/5 = 2.4 miles.

    Distance around the park is 2.4 miles.

    1.5 / 5 = 0.3

    0.3 x 8 = 2.4

    Total distance = 2.4 miles
