The expression 2l + 2w is used to find the perimeter of a rectangle with length l and width w. What is the perimeter of a rectangle with length 14 cm and width 4 cm?

    Perimeter = 2 (l + w)

    P = 2 (14 + 4)

    P = 2 x 18

    P = 36 cm

    P=2l+2w

    p=2 (l+w) and you are told that l=14cm and w=4cm so

    p=2 (14+4)

    p=2 (18)

    p=36cm
