x=6 because 23-5 because you do the inverse operation = 18, so then you have 3x=18. So then you do the inverse operation of multiplication and divide both sides by 3. Then you get 6. SO x=6

I got x=6 too because if you subtract 23-5=18 and 5-5=0 so then you get 3x=18

Therefore you divide both sides by 3 and you get x=6
