Yara just received a 6% raise in salary. Before the raise, she was making $52,000 per year. How many more will Yara earn next year? In this problem how would you figure it out in Percent Proportion?

    before, she was making 52000

    so raise/original=106%/100%=106/100

    x=new salary

    'how much more'=x-52000

    also, since 6% increase, 6% is the how much more

    howmuchmore/52000=6%/100%

    howmuchmore/52000=6/100

    howmuchmore/52000=0.06

    multiply both sides by 52000

    howmuchmore=3120

    she earns $3120 more nex year
