A cylindrical tank holds 14,130 in3 of water. Ida empties the tank into 25 identical smaller cylinders, each with a radius of 3 in. What is the height of the 25 smaller cylinders? Use 3.14 to approximate pi.

    smaller cylinder : 25 pcs

    radius of small cylinders: 3 inches.

    Volume of a cylinder = π r² h

    14,130 in³ : 25 pcs = 565.20 in³ volume per small cylinder.

    565.20 in³ = 3.14 * (3in) ² * h

    565.20 in³ = 3.14 * 9in² * h

    565.20 in³ = 28.26 in² * h

    565.20 in³ : 28.26 in² = h

    20 in = h

    The height of the small cylinder is 20 inches.
