A phone sells for $250. It is now on sale for 1/5 of the original price. April has a coupon for an extra 10% off the sale price. To the nearest dollar, how much less than the original will april pay for the phone?

    If you meant "1/5 off" instead of "1/5 of":

    250 - (250 (4/5) (9/10))

    250 - (200 (9/10))

    250 - (180)

    70

    So April saved $70 off the original price.
