    5+4 (21+3x) = 41

    5 + (4) (21) + (4) (3x) = 41 (Distribute)

    5+84+12x=41

    (12x) + (5+84) = 41 (Combine Like Terms)

    12x+89=41

    12x+89=41

    Step 2: Subtract 89 from both sides.

    12x+89-89=41-89

    12x=-48

    Step 3: Divide both sides by 12.

    12x12=-4812

    x=-4
