Start with 1 liter take away 1/4 to see how much was used for the cups:

1 - 1/4 = 3/4;

Divide 3/4 to 6 cups to find how much was poured in each cup:

3/4 dividend by6 is the same as

3/4 • 1/6 = 3•1 / 4•6 = 1/4•2 = 1/8
