    4x+5y = - 12

    subtract 4x from both sides

    5y = - 4x - 12

    divide by 5

    y = - 4/5 x - 12/5

    -2x+3y = - 18

    subtract - 2x

    3y = - 2x - 18

    divide by 3

    y = - 2/3x - 6
