Is (-2,-6) a solution of y<7x+8?

    Well you can substitute-2 to x and - 6 to x and it it works then yes

    But in this problem it's no because

    -6<7 (-2) + 8

    -6<-14+8

    -6<-6

    So - 6 is not smaller than - 6
