    So, you know there is 60 minutes in an hour or 60/1. To figure out the conversion, find how many miles can be ran in and hour (60 minutes)

    Your equation will look like this:

    8/44 = x/60. cross multiply and the divide

    8 * 60 = 480

    480/44 = 10.9090 miles per hour.
