Jamar has an 8-foot-long piece of wood that he wants to cut to build a step stool for his tree house. if each piece is going to be 5/6 foot long, what is the greatest number of the pieces he will be able to use.

    8 divided by 5/6

    First, since 8 is a whole number you have to add a one to the bottom. So, that becomes 8/1.

    Second, flip 5/6 over and then multiply both of the fractions.

    Now the equation is this: 8/1 * 5/6.

    Lastly, your solution is 48/5 but, then we need to simplify it.

    So, that will be 9 and 3/5.
