The population of a town was 4000 in 2010. The population grows at a rate of 3.8% annually.

(a) Use the exponential growth model to write an equation that estimates the population t years after 2010.

(a) Estimate the population of the town in 2024. Show your work.

    2010 = 4000 x 3.8 / 100 = 152

    = 4152

    b) 2024 = 4000x (3.8x 14) / 100=

    4000 x 53.2/100 = 2128

    2024 = 6128
