They will each have painted 8 km. This goal will be met on Day 4.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Group A | Group B

    Start: 2 | Start: 5 Day 1

    2 + 2 = 4 | 5 + 1 = 6 Day 2

    4 + 2 = 6 | 6 + 1 = 7 Day 3

    6 + 2 = 8 | 7 + 1 = 8 Day 4
