    5/12 is less than 1/2 because 6/12 would be 1/2 so 1/2 is bigger than 5/12 because 6/12 is one bigger than 5/12

    5/12 is less than 1/2 because half of 12 is 6 so 1/2=6/12 which is more than 5/12
