    Answer: 150 coins

    Step-by-step explanation: let the number of captain Sparrow and the crew = c

    The number of gold = g

    This mean each person will get g/c

    If there were four fewer pirates, then each person would get 10 more coins means

    g / (c - 4) = g / c + 10

    cg = (c-4) (g+10c) ... (1)

    However, if there were 50 fewer coins, then each person would get 5 fewer coins.

    (g - 50) / c = g/c - 5

    g - 50 = g - 5c

    5c = 50

    c = 10

    Substitute c in equation 1

    cg = (c-4) (g+10c) ... (1)

    10g = (10 - 4) (g + 10*10)

    10g = 6 * (g + 100)

    10g = 6g + 600

    4g = 600

    g = 150 gold coin.

    Therefore they dig up 150 gold coin
