Person a and person b shoot to the same target independently. person a hits the target with a probability of 0.8, while person b hits the target with a probability of 0.9. what is the probability that the target can be hit?

    P (A∪B) = P (A) + P (B) - P (A∩B) = 0.8 + 0.9 - 0.8*0.9

    = 1.70 - 0.72 = 0.98

    The probability the target will be hit is 0.98.
