    Ax^2 + bx + c = 0

    -2x^2 + 6x + 13 = 0

    a = - 2

    b = 6

    c = 13

    b^2 - 4ac

    6^2 - 4 (-2) (13)

    = 36 - (-104)

    = 36 + 104

    = 140

    The value of the discriminant is 140.
