if each of the 254 students who perform on stage has 3 friends come to see the musical, and each of the 137 students working back stage has 2 friends come to see the musical, how many total audience members will there be?

    Okay so all you have to do is multiply 254 by 3 and get 762. Then multiply 137 by 2 and get 274. Lastly, add 762 and 274 together and get 1036. So you answer is 1,036 audience members are attending.
