    Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

    Answer: NO solution possible!

    Steps:

    Let "n" be the first even number. We are told that

    n + (n+2) + (n+4) + (n+6) + (n + 8) = 216

    The third number, the value we want, is boldfaced above.

    Simplify the above equation:

    5n + (2 + 4 + 6 + 8) = 216 or

    5n + 20 = 216 or

    5n = 196

    n = 196/5 is NOT an integer value. This problem, as stated, has no solution.
