    Answer: Table = 6.50; Chair = 1.75

    Step-by-step explanation:

    2c + 3t = 23

    6c + 5t = 43

    Multiply the first equation by - 3

    -6c - 9t = - 69

    Then, add the following lines together:

    -6c - 9t = - 69

    6c + 5t = 43

    -4t = - 26

    t = - 26/-4 = 6.5

    Plug in the value of t into 2c + 3t = 23

    2c + 19.5 = 23

    Subtract 19.5 from both sides

    2c = 3.5

    c = 3.5/2 = 1.75

    chairs: $1.75, tables: $6.50

    Step-by-step explanation:

    x is tables, y is chairs.

    3x + 2y=23

    5x+6y=43

    then:

    9x+6y=69 (multiply all by 3)

    -5x-6x=-43 (multiply by - 1)

    Now add

    4x=26

    x=6.5

    plug x back in to find y

    3 (6.5) + 2y+=23

    2y=3.5

    y=1.75
