    Step-by-step explanation:

    hello:

    here is two examples:

    1) x²-9=0 means : x²-3² = (x-3) (x+3) = 0 ... use identity : a²-b² = (a-b (a+b)

    use the Zero Product Property; x-3=0 or x+3=0 so : x=3 or x = + 3

    2) x²+4x = 0 ... using factoring : x (x+4) = 0 means : x=0 or x+4=0

    x=0 or x = - 4
