    2 (x+2) = 1

    Then you multiply 2 by x and 2 by 2 so you get ...

    2x+2=1

    Then you subtract 2 from to which you can cross out tand subtract 2 from 1 which equals to - 1

    2x=-1

    Then you divide 2 by 2 which you can cross out and 2 by - 1 which equals to - 0.5 so ...

    X=-0.5

    -0.5 is your answer
