    2x + 3y = 3 ... (i)

    7x - 3y = 24 ... (ii)

    Adding (i) and (ii) we get;

    9x + 0 = 27, 9x = 27, x = 3

    Replacing x=3 in equation (i) we get;

    2 (3) + 3y = 3

    3y = 3 - 6, 3y = - 3, y = - 1

    The solution (x, y) of the system of equations above is (3,-1)
