    Solve for x first

    4x - 8y + 8y = 6 + 8y - Add 8y to both sides

    4x = 8y + 6

    4x 4 = 8y + 6 4 - Divide both sides by 4

    x = 2y + 3 2

    then use subsitution

    2x - 4y = 3

    2 (2y + 32) - 4y = 3

    3=3 - Simplify both sides of the equation

    3 + - 3 = 3 + - 3 - Add - 3 to both sides

    0=0
