The measures of two angles have a sum of 180 degrees. The measures of the angles are in a ratio of 5:1. what are the measures of both angles

    this is because the equation worked out would be 5x + x = 180, or 6x = 180

    you divide 180 by 6 to get 30, then multiply it by five, which is 150. the remaining amount is 30.

    so, essentially, 5 (30) + 30 = 180.
