During a recent school football game, your quarterback was sacked and lost 2 yards on the first down. On the second down, a 35 - yard pass was completed. On the third down your team rushed for 15 yards. Did your team get a first down (a gain of 10 yards) as a result of these plays? How many yards did they gain total? HURRY!

    First play - 2

    Second play + 35

    Third play (after the first down) + 15

    No they didn't get a first down. They got two of them.

    The total gain was

    -2 + 35 + 15 = 50 - 2 = 48 yards gained.
