A store owner buys backpacks at a certain price and sells them at a higher price. The differences is called the markup. If she pays $21 for a backpack and adds a 40% markup on the price she paid what the selling price

    Take 21 and add 40% (can be done with a simple calculator) answer will be 8.40 dollars. Add that to 21 to get your answer of $29.40.
