    Let t be the amount of trucks.

    Thus 5t is the amount of cars.

    t + 5t = 30

    6t = 30

    t = 30/6

    t = 5

    Therefore, there are 5 trucks

    t = trucks

    5t+t = 30

    6t = 30

    [divide 6 on both sides]

    t=5

    There are 5 trucks.
