    The given linear equations are:

    y = - 3x ... (1)

    and - 6x + y = - 9 ... (2)

    We have to find, the value of x and y are:

    Solution:

    Put y = - 3x in equation (2), we get

    - 6x - 3x = - 9

    ⇒ - 9x = - 9

    ⇒ x = 1

    Put x = 1 in equation (1), we get

    y = - 3 (1)

    ⇒ y = - 3

    ∴ x = 1 and y = - 3

    Thus, the values of x and y are "1 and - 3"
