    So, We Need To Write An Equation. Lets Make Some Variables.

    Max Amount He Can Spend: X

    Max Amount Of Hours: H

    Cost Per hour: P

    Deposit : D

    So, Lets Start.

    We Can Write:

    H = (X - D) / P

    Now, Just Plug In The Known Values.

    H = (30 - 15) / 3

    That Is Our Equation.

    Now, Just For Fun, I Will Solve It.

    So, We Need To Simplify.

    30 - 15 = 15.

    So, We Have:

    H = 15/3

    So, We Know:

    15/3 = 5.

    So, We Can Substitute 5 for 15/3.

    We Get:

    H = 5

    So, He Can Canoe For 5 Hours.
