Answer: Earthquakes are caused when the rock underneath the earths crust breaks causing the earths plates to shift causing sudden movement known as a earthquake. Volcanoes are formed when the earths magma finds its way to earths crust. it then eventually hardens and more magma rises causing lava flows and ash forming a volcanoes! A lot of the mountains we learn about today are made with the shiftment of the tectonic plates causing mountains to shift together. Another way mountains are formed is erosion, Water and other rocks can be smashed together when those rocks were once underwater as a lot of states with mountains were once underwater.
