The given curve is → x²=y, which is a parabola opening upwards and vertex at (0,0).

When it is reflected in x axis, the curve becomes→ x²=-y

The graph of two curves are shown.

Now the curve, x² = - y is scaled vertically by a factor of 1/8.

    So, the equation of curve becomes,→ x² = - y * 1/8

    → x² = - y/8

    Plotting the graph of →x² = - y/8

The curve will shrink, as scaling is less than 1.
