Given that a group of 140 tourists are going on a tour the tour guide rents 15 vans. Each van holds 9 touritst.

Now we have to write a division problem that can be used to find the number or vans needed to carry the tourtist.

To do that we simply divide the bigger quantity which we want to distribute by smaller quantity in which we want to distribute.

Like bigger quantity is number of tourists (140) and the smaller quantity is number of tourists that can be hold in 1 van which is 9

So we will divide 140 by 9

So the required problem can be written as 140/9.

    Solution:

just divide 140 by 9, we get 15.56 which is more than 15

So we will need total 16 buses for 140 tourists.
