on the school trip margie spent 12.40 on 2 souvenirs. each souvenir cost the same amount. the amount of tax was 0.72 how much did each souvenir cost?

    12.40:2 = 6.20

    .72:2=.36

    6.20+.36=6.56

    each souvenir costs $6.56 a piece.
